Analysis: Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff

Chanel Rion opened the segment on a letter she said reads mostly like a DNC memo. On the October 1, 2026 edition of Fine Point with Chanel Rion on OAN, Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff took her point to the campaign: Democrats are not promoting any real policies for November, he said, and they want help from everywhere they can get. Then he turned to Iran and made the case that Donald Trump is a peaceful president, pointing to Trump’s diplomatic and financial work against what Pfaff called a truly terrorist regime.

Topics Covered

A Letter That Reads Like a DNC Memo

Rion said the letter reads like a Democrat talking point memo, and like a disgruntled Republican memo too, but mostly like a DNC memo, and that it is not an accident.

“If we were to do this in another country, we would be slammed as interfering in another country’s sovereignty.”
— Chanel Rion, Host, Fine Point with Chanel Rion

The IRGC gets a free pass, she said. Allowing that she may have missed a headline, she said she had not seen any pointed criticism or concern about the letter coming out of CNN’s editorial desks.

Democrats Want to Politically Destroy the Country

Pfaff drew a line first.

“Though I would never make the point that Democrats want to destroy this country in the same manner as Iran, they don’t. I’m not going to make that claim, but I am going to make the claim that they do want to politically destroy this country.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

His evidence was the Democrats’ own campaign. If they win in November, Pfaff said, they know it will not be because of any policies they are promoting, because they are not promoting any policies of anything real they will do. All they have is what they have already done, and he called that a disaster.

“They want help from everywhere that they can get because they cannot provide help for themselves.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

The Only Help They Get: GOP Leadership

Pfaff then named the only help he said Democrats get.

“The only help that they get is, quite frankly, GOP leadership on Capitol Hill, which won’t do what they need to do to support the Trump agenda.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

With no real policies and a record he called a disaster, the only help Democrats get, in Pfaff’s account, comes from Republican leadership on Capitol Hill that won’t do what it needs to do to support the Trump agenda.

Diplomatic and Financial Work Against Iran

Then Pfaff turned to Trump’s record abroad.

“Listen, Donald Trump has been a blessing to the world. He has done so many things that have been positive, that are not warlike.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

Calling Trump a peaceful president, Pfaff did not skip over the war with Iran. Trump started out with the war, he said, and people can agree or disagree with that. His point was what came after: look at how Trump has handled it since. Pfaff covered Trump’s Iran message in his analysis of the Trump UN speech on Iran, Greenland and Cuba.

“He’s not out doing anything but diplomatic work and the financial work to stop what is a truly terrorist regime and to stop their activities worldwide.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

That work, Pfaff said, has brought peace to the region, notwithstanding what Israel thinks about it. TCC has also covered the Iran conflict in Not an Endless War, Pfaff’s conversation with Col. Rob Maness.

Why Donald Trump Is a Peaceful President

Pfaff addressed Israel directly. There are many ways the Israel line gets brought up, he said, and many ways Trump has held Israel back from doing more. Holding an ally back while doing diplomatic and financial work against a terrorist regime is, in Pfaff’s view, the record of a peaceful president.

“Donald Trump is a peaceful president. I would argue for that.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

Rion’s answer to the peaceful president argument closed the clip: “Absolutely.”

Key Takeaways

  1. Mostly a DNC memo – Rion said the IRGC gets a free pass and she had not seen pointed criticism of the letter from CNN’s editorial desks.
  2. Not like Iran, but politically destructive – Pfaff says Democrats do not want to destroy the country the way Iran does, but they do want to politically destroy it.
  3. No policies for November – With nothing real to promote, Democrats want help from everywhere, and the only help they get is GOP leadership on Capitol Hill.
  4. A peaceful president on Iran – Since the war began, Trump has used diplomatic and financial work against a terrorist regime, brought peace to the region, and held Israel back.
