Analysis: Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff
Chuck Boozer welcomed Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff back to On Second Thought on WHKY on October 2, 2026. Boozer started with a Dubai airline flight whose attackers, he said, were linked to Iran, and the conversation turned quickly to mass deportation. Boozer said somewhere between 10 and 20 million people were let in during the Biden administration. Pfaff answered that TCC is part of the Mass Deportation Coalition, a group of organizations saying the country needs to go further. Speaking from the home he and his wife own in Southwest Indiana, Pfaff also took up his debate with libertarians over freedom, whether the United Nations is still relevant, and Donald Trump’s hosting of China’s President Xi Jinping.

A Dubai Flight and Iran’s 47-Year War
Boozer said that at first he thought the story was a fight between two pilots in the cockpit. It turned out to be more than that: a Dubai airline flight, attackers linked to Iran, and a drop of 14,000 feet in about 30 seconds.
Pfaff said the story was still developing and that he did not know all the details yet. What it did show, he said, was the courage of a lot of people, particularly the pilot who somehow got the door open to get help. Then he put the attack in a longer frame, drawn from Raymond Ibrahim, a Coptic Christian from an Egyptian family who translated The Al-Qaeda Reader after 9/11 from writings of Ayman al-Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden he found in the Library of Congress archives.
Ibrahim talks a lot about the long road of Islam against the Christian West and against Judaism. Pfaff called it odd that people treat Christianity as a white European faith; Islam, he said, brutally destroyed two-thirds of the Christian West after Muhammad’s death, from Northern Africa past Israel and up into Turkey, or Asia Minor. That is where Christianity was, and it was not white.
“So this is an ongoing issue that exists, and radical Islamists like those in Iran are intent upon destroying the West. That is what they’re wanting to do. And whatever we think about Donald Trump actually going in and doing what he’s doing in Iran, the reality is Iran’s been at war with us for 47 years.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
Pfaff called the flight a very problematic example. In his reading, it shows a regime that knows it is potentially on its last legs and is trying to survive with more disaster and destruction, which he said is what they are all committed to.
Mass Deportation and the Gate Left Open for 4 Years
Boozer brought the threat home. His case for mass deportation started with what the country does not know.
“We have no idea who is in this country. Over 10 million, somewhere between 10 and 20 million people that were let in during the Biden administration. We have no idea what cells are here. We’re trying to get them out. We can’t do that properly.”
— Chuck Boozer, Host, On Second Thought
Boozer said the people saved that flight, and that safety is not just on the TSA anymore. It is up to all of us, he said. You see something, you say something, and you keep your eyes wide open.
“I think this could be a very scary time in the near future for us simply because we left the gate open on this country for about 4 years.”
— Chuck Boozer, Host, On Second Thought
Pfaff’s answer: “Well, there’s no doubt.” He then laid out where his organization stands on mass deportation.
The Mass Deportation Coalition: Clean Up the Internal Mess
Pfaff said The Conservative Caucus supports all that Trump has done so far, and is pushing past it as part of a coalition built around mass deportation.
“The Conservative Caucus, my organization, we’re part of what’s called the Mass Deportation Coalition. And frankly, even though we’re very supportive of all that Donald Trump has done so far, we’re out there as a group of organizations saying, you know, we need to go further and we really do need to deport people. Even the folks that are not doing any particular harm, they’re just trying to work, they still are here illegally.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
The line Pfaff drew is legal status, not behavior. A person who is just trying to work is still here illegally, and in his view mass deportation has to reach that person too. Closing the border is half of it. The other half, he said, is inside the country.
“We absolutely need to clean this whole mess up entirely, not just close the border, but clean up the internal mess so that we can actually get to a place where we can start this all over as best possible and then make people come in who actually want to be in this country, want to learn to love this country and believe in the values that have made us, really honestly, the greatest nation in the history of the earth.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
What the Mass Deportation Coalition Is Asking For
Pfaff: go further than what has been done so far; deport people who are here illegally, including those who are just trying to work; close the border and clean up the internal mess; then start over with people who want to be here, want to learn to love this country and believe in its values.
Pfaff’s mass deportation argument ends in a fresh start, not a closed door. We have more freedom and more opportunity, he said, and we do want other nations to copy us and act in the same manner. “But we are who we are, and we should be very proud and thankful of it.” He laid out the coalition’s next steps with Mike Howell at the RNC Midterm Convention in the Mass Deportation Coalition and Phase 2.
Freedom Happens When You Abide by It
Boozer recalled Trump talking with Syrian leaders a while back and asking how they would like to become a prosperous country instead of one known for breeding or harboring terrorists. Trump gets no credit for that, Boozer said, and he asked whether wanting everybody to contribute something positive to the planet is utopia, or crazy talk.
“Well, it is utopia to think that you’re ever going to fully get there, but the aspiration of it and the effort to move towards that is not utopianism. Because if you want to have peace and security, if you want to have a good economy, if you want to live at all with the kind of prosperity we’ve been able to enjoy, you have to constantly work it.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
You have to be diligent, consistent and persistent to maintain it, Pfaff said. The freedom does not stay around because you throw up a Constitution like ours. “Freedom happens when you abide by it.” It echoes what he said about who should come in once the internal mess is cleaned up: people who believe in the values that have made this the greatest nation in the history of the earth.
Pfaff described himself as roughly libertarian in his economic outlook. But he has been having a big, public debate with libertarians over what he called the focus on the libertine aspects of liberty. The Libertarian Party, in the way it acts, has a mantra that effectively says that if drugs and prostitution were legal, we would all be free.
“We don’t want a government telling people how to morally live their lives, but we also don’t want a government or a political system or even a culture that pushes any kind of lifestyle you want and just say, go do it. And that’s a real, real big fight we’re having right now.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
The United Nations Is Useless and Irrelevant
Boozer asked whether the United Nations is really relevant today. Its relevancy, Pfaff said, is the absurdity that it is, with a lot of absurd nations participating in it. You can say whatever you want about Benjamin Netanyahu, he said, but the walkout of 77 countries was, in his mind, obscene.
“I think that what it has become is a way for rogue countries to find a way for themselves to get a voice. And everything that the UN does is bad or worse than anything any government does.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
Pfaff’s case against the UN rests on his case about government. When government tries to fix things, he said, it always makes it worse, and nearly every problem in society, economic or otherwise, more than likely has a government connection of some sort.
“Government’s only role is to provide a means to protect the citizens of that nation and to have a judicial system that allows some remedy when harm has been done to others, whether through civil or criminal cases. And that’s it. There’s really not much more of a role. That’s what our Constitution lays out pretty firmly.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
The UN, he said, just puts all those bad effects of government on steroids: “So no, I think it’s useless and irrelevant.” Boozer added that the UN has forgotten its own name; walking out of meetings is not uniting anybody. Pfaff called the name itself a misnomer. You are never going to unite nations, he said, except in some forcible eschatological fashion where they work together to control citizens.
“As I say, 6,000 years of recorded human history proves the moral depravity of mankind,” Pfaff said. Nations are always going to be at each other’s throats from time to time, and it takes work to impart moral behavior in anyone. The real question is how you work with other nations, as your own nation, to build those relationships and protect your citizens. In his view, our system does that better than any country ever has in world history.
Trump, Xi Jinping and Unilateral Trade
Boozer raised the criticism Trump took for hosting China’s President Xi Jinping and the pomp and circumstance that came with it, including a stop at the National Archives to see the Declaration of Independence. Even some conservatives, Boozer said, thought it was a little too kind. His read: keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
There is something to that, Pfaff said, with some modifications. To him it was Trump doing exactly what he had just described: dealing with other countries one at a time, not through the World Trade Organization or any similar multinational construct.
“We should be making unilateral economic arrangements in trade with other countries. We should always be trying to get to zero tariffs between the two, but if we can’t get there, we need to make it as low as possible. And as a country, we should not be making favorable trade agreements with countries that are actually trying to do us wrong.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
You still have to respect a country like China, Pfaff said, with a very large GDP and influence around the world, and Trump does that in a way he called entirely appropriate. He said he can guarantee that behind the scenes the two sides are beating up on one another, and that is what should be done. TCC covered his September 23 Lindell TV analysis in Pfaff’s analysis of the Trump Xi summit and the AI race.
“This is a competition. China does want to do better than us. They would like us to reduce on the world stage while they increase. That’s the nature of these arrangements. So Donald Trump doing that keeps the temperature down.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus
Keeping the temperature down in public does not mean going soft in private. Pfaff said he has confidence that some firm discussion takes place at the same time.
