Analysis: Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff

President Trump has announced what he calls the most crushing economic operation ever leveled against any country — sweeping Iran economic sanctions he described as an “economic D-Day.” On the August 20 edition of Worldview Tube’s Washington Report, Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff supported shutting Iran down economically while pressing a harder question: with Iran’s military decimated, when does America gracefully back out and get on with its own business? The conversation also covered Trump’s first-ever Republican midterm convention set for September 9-10 in Dallas, California’s AB 2624 — the “Stop Nick Shirley Act” — now on Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk, the Lindsay Clancy trial, and a Lara Logan clip on Muslim voting blocs that led Pfaff to call on Republicans not to seat DSA members of Congress who will not denounce Sharia law.

Topics Covered

Iran Sanctions: “Economic D-Day” — and the Case for a Graceful Exit

The show opened with Truth Social posts President Trump issued announcing the next phase of the Iran campaign. With Iran’s navy gone, its air force destroyed, its military factories rubble, and its currency worthless, Trump declared that any country providing a financial lifeline to Tehran — oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, front companies — will itself face tremendous economic consequences:

“This will be an economic D-Day, and we will need all of our allies to stand with the United States of America to isolate and defeat the Iran threat.”
— President Donald Trump, on Truth Social

Pfaff was skeptical of the sanctions as a deterrent in themselves. The regime’s leaders, he said, are apocalyptic believers — they don’t care about money, and they don’t care about other countries. He also noted the fracture on the right: Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, and others sympathetic to their criticism have gone so far as to call for Trump’s impeachment, which Pfaff called absurd even while granting that he shares some of their frustration. His own position comes, in his words, from an America First MAGA perspective: Iran is definitely decimated, so why not pull away, let the rest of the world figure out its next moves, and go back to producing our own oil? He put it plainly: “I think there’s a graceful way to pull out and not look like a defeat. And I think he needs to figure out what that is.”

“But I just think we’ve got to back out of it and get moving on with America. And that’s, that’s where the game is.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

The host ran through the allies now forced to choose — Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (some of which have already begun severing ties), parts of the European Union including Germany, plus Japan, South Korea, Iraq, and India. Pfaff’s real question sits behind all of them: what is Trump going to do about China, which is totally dependent on Iranian oil? He conceded the whole situation is a jumbled mess and said he understands the goal of ending the threat of an Iranian nuclear weapon. But the critics who now attack Trump, he noted, helped put America $40 trillion in debt and allowed Iran to collect billions to fund its terrorism — “We stopped it.” On the economic campaign itself he was unambiguous: totally shut them down economically. On pushing the war all the way through, he was not — leave the uprising to the people of Iran, perhaps with help for the Kurds, and get moving on with America.

A First-Ever Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas

In another Truth Social post, Trump announced that for the first time ever, Republicans from across the country will gather for a midterm convention — to celebrate victories, showcase candidates, and prepare for what he called the most important midterm election in history. The dates: September 9 and 10 in Dallas. The Conservative Caucus will be there, with what Pfaff expects to be a booth and media spot inside the stadium:

“We’re going to take it seriously and be there. We want to talk about where we’re going and we’re going to have a regular media presence there.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

TCC in Dallas, September 8-10

Ahead of the convention, TCC will host a gathering — not a fundraiser, Pfaff stressed, but an event for the people who have supported the organization financially — at the Fairmont, just a few blocks from the convention site, on September 8. Anyone attending the convention who wants to join TCC there is invited to come along.

California’s AB 2624: The “Stop Nick Shirley Act” Heads to Newsom

The California legislature has formally passed AB 2624 — dubbed the “Stop Nick Shirley Act” — and sent it to Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk. As discussed on the show, the bill targets the kind of journalism Nick Shirley practices: confronting and recording suspected fraudsters, particularly around immigration support service providers, with a fine attached for looking into them. Shirley himself confronted Assemblymember Mia Bonta — wife of Attorney General Rob Bonta — who was behind the bill. In the footage played on air, she dismissed his questions as misinformation and denied knowledge of any such bill “called whatever you reference it as,” even as Shirley pointed to the bill text and to an amendment stripping protections a journalist would have when exposing fraud inside immigration support services.

Pfaff’s response went to first principles. Free speech, he reminded viewers, is designed specifically to protect what officials label misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation — not because lies are good, but because no human being has all the truth, and a free interchange of ideas is how people find it:

“The reason we have free speech is not to protect speech people like, but to protect speech generally.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

The bill’s purpose, in Pfaff’s telling, is protection — of fraud. “California is working as hard as they can to keep their fraud,” he said, arguing the state’s Democrat leadership has effectively made fraud legal, turning the legal system on its head to perpetuate its schemes and, he warned, hoping to spread the model nationwide. They’ll never call it communist, he added, but it’ll be communist. The segment closed with footage of a California State Assembly chief of staff accosting Shirley on a Sacramento street with a string of crude taunts. Pfaff, who served as a chief of staff in a state legislative body himself, called the display shameful from someone he considers a professional peer — and noted the hypocrisy: when the bill passes, that staffer can keep filming and heckling Shirley on a street corner all day long, but Shirley’s reporting gets penalized.

“It is outrageous what we are seeing Democrats do because they hate this country. They literally hate this country.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

The Lindsay Clancy Trial and the Culture Behind the Cheering

The host turned to the Lindsay Clancy trial, now nearing its end. Clancy has agreed to stipulations that she killed her three children; her defense argues she was in a psychotic state and is not guilty by reason of insanity, while some supporters online have pushed the claim that her husband did it and framed her. Crowds have now gathered outside the courthouse cheering her and her lawyer, holding up hearts. For Pfaff, the spectacle is a symptom of something older and deeper. He recalled Antonin Scalia’s confirmation hearing decades ago, when Ted Kennedy’s only concern was whether Scalia would overturn Roe v. Wade:

“And I just want to repeat, Democrats— the Democrat Party is a death cult. They believe in death in every area of life.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

Abortion, he argued, ranks higher in that political and moral hierarchy than marriage itself — and the breakdown of marriage is the thread that connects it all. Pfaff cited more than 60 years of social science showing that children in homes with a married mother and father do better across every range of marriage quality, excluding rape, incest, and abuse:

“They support the breakdown of one-man, one-woman marriage, the one thing that makes any society strong because it protects women and it allows children to be nurtured in an environment that will help them be the most successful possible.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

He added that feminism, in the form it took in the 1970s and ’80s, has helped perpetuate the abortion culture — an argument he acknowledged would draw pushback from self-described Christian feminists, and one he made anyway. Only inside that culture, he said, can someone argue with a straight face that a mental disorder explains killing one’s own children, while crowds cheer outside the courthouse.

Lara Logan on Muslim Voting Blocs — and the DSA Question in Congress

The show then played a clip of Lara Logan, in conversation with Texas filmmaker Chris Burgard, explaining why the small national percentage of Muslims in America understates their political leverage. Concentrated in particular districts, she said, a bloc that votes as its imam directs can decide races — and politicians in Texas who cannot get elected without that vote no longer want to hear from critics like Burgard or John Guandolo. The host noted the same dynamic is playing out in Minnesota and Michigan.

Pfaff called it a serious problem while rejecting the panic framing: no, Islamists are not about to take over the country. What is coming, he said, is a radical transformation of the discussion inside the U.S. Congress — somewhere between 4 and 8 potential members of Congress running as Democrat Socialists of America candidates, many of whom are Islamists promoting communist ideals. And because Sharia law is on its face incompatible with the U.S. Constitution, Pfaff argued that seating them raises an oath-of-office problem Republicans must confront directly:

“We need to tell Republicans if they keep Congress, they are— they should not seat any of those members because they are not able to take the oath of office because of what they’ve said publicly unless they denounce Sharia law and then do not act upon it.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

Washington’s danger, he warned, is muscle memory. Democrats and many Republicans have been ignoring the Constitution for decades — the $40 trillion debt is the proof — and that same reflex to go along will not resist an Islamist bloc inside Congress:

“Because the muscle memory won’t work against them. It’ll work right down their path. And that has got to stop now.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

A Tour of the Socialist Future

The show closed with an AI-generated video — a young woman chanting “housing is a human right” and “defund the police” gets her wish and is transported to the socialist future: assigned housing nowhere near the beach, black coffee only, $40 eggs at the government grocery store, no police to call, free trains with no drivers, and free healthcare with a 72-day wait for an appointment — two weeks if it’s an emergency. She begs to go home. Pfaff said the satire lands exactly because the destination is real: a generation is subscribing to socialism while ignoring the history of the hundreds of millions killed and the wealth destroyed under it.

“Whereas if everyone’s allowed to make their own decisions about what their priorities are in a free market system, then everyone’s going to get something fairly close to what they deserve.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

Key Takeaways

  1. “Economic D-Day” declared – Trump announced the most crushing economic operation ever against any country: any nation providing Iran a financial lifeline — oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, front companies — faces tremendous economic consequences.
  2. Shut them down, then back out – Pfaff backs the economic shutdown but argues Iran’s military is decimated and the U.S. should find a graceful exit, leave any uprising to the Iranian people, and get moving on with America. His open question: what will Trump do about China, which is totally dependent on Iranian oil?
  3. Dallas, September 9-10 – Trump’s first-ever Republican midterm convention. TCC plans a media booth inside the stadium and a gathering for its financial supporters at the Fairmont on September 8.
  4. AB 2624 heads to Newsom – The “Stop Nick Shirley Act” penalizes the journalism that exposes fraud at immigration support service providers. Pfaff: free speech exists to protect speech generally — including what officials call misinformation — and California is working to keep its fraud.
  5. The Clancy trial as culture marker – Crowds cheering a mother who admitted killing her three children reflect, in Pfaff’s view, a death cult built on abortion and the breakdown of one-man, one-woman marriage.
  6. The DSA seating fight – With 4 to 8 potential DSA members headed for Congress and Sharia law incompatible with the Constitution, Pfaff says Republicans should refuse to seat members who will not denounce Sharia law.
