Abdul El-Sayed won his primary in Michigan, and on the August 10 edition of Worldview Tube’s Washington Report, Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff told co-host Logan House why that result puts Sharia law on a collision course with the American Constitution. The show played El-Sayed’s own remarks at a CAIR event calling a Sharia ban “white supremacy,” and Pfaff answered with a point-by-point case for why the system is “fundamentally inconsistent” with a republican form of government. From there the hour widened out: DSA primary winners who Pfaff says cannot faithfully take the oath of office, a Muslim march through downtown Chicago an hour before a scheduled Jesus March, a montage of Barack Obama on Islam, and the Save America Act still parked in the Senate. El-Sayed Wins the Michigan Primary

The show opened with the elections that happened while the program was off the air — above all, Abdul El-Sayed’s primary win in Michigan. Pfaff’s first point was the candidate’s organizational home: El-Sayed, he said, is connected with CAIR, which Pfaff described as a Muslim Brotherhood organization. And he tied that connection to a larger argument he has been building about the movement behind these candidacies:

“it’s the DSA, the Democratic Socialists of America, is a communist movement. But quite frankly, it’s an Islamofascist movement as well, too.”

“Sayed’s right in the middle of that,” Pfaff added — though he thinks the general election is far from decided: “I think Mike Rogers is probably going to beat him in Michigan, but it’s close.” He also sees an “ick factor” developing around the Democratic Socialists of America, with Americans “slowly maybe starting to get the idea that this maybe is not such a good thing.”

Sharia Law vs. the American Constitution

House then rolled the clip: El-Sayed at a CAIR event, discussing Oklahoma’s referendum banning Sharia law and linking the ban’s supporters to “the same exact forces” that drove native peoples from their land, destroyed Black Wall Street, and bombed a building decades ago. Pfaff’s response came in three parts, and the first was constitutional:

“Sharia law is inconsistent with the American Constitution. It’s fundamentally inconsistent with the American Constitution because it is an authoritarian system designed to shut out anyone from accepting anything but Islamic teaching in law.”

Under Sharia, Pfaff argued, there is no Blind Lady Justice deciding cases on facts and circumstances rather than the will of the state. The contrast he drew is structural — where the state sits in the system:

The Constitution guarantees a republican form of government, Pfaff noted, and “there is nothing like republican form of government, small r republican form of government, anywhere in Sharia law.” As for El-Sayed’s on-camera claim not to know what a Sharia ban even means, Pfaff didn’t buy it: “He knows that it’s an all-consuming set of laws that, that if it violates what we understand as human rights, so be it, because that’s what they do.”

Two-Thirds of the Christian World — and the Oath of Office

Pfaff’s third point took direct aim at El-Sayed’s dispossession framing. The history he laid out runs from Asia Minor around the Mediterranean coast to Morocco — territory he described as firmly Christian until roughly 630 to 711 AD, when it was put under Islamic rule and, in his telling, the rights of Christians and Jews were entirely taken away. Christians and Jews who did not convert, he said, “had to submit and pay what I think is called the taqiyya, a tax”, and lived as second-class citizens. His summary:

“All of Islam was by force, by military force, dispossessed Christians of two-thirds of the Christian world.”

That history, Pfaff argued, is why El-Sayed’s framing is “obscene and absurd” — and why the stakes go beyond one Michigan race. He grouped El-Sayed with three DSA nominees who took out incumbent Democrats in the New York City area and one who beat a sitting Democrat in Denver:

“All 5 of them, if they were to be elected, should not be seated in Congress because they cannot faithfully take the oath of the Constitution.”

Pfaff was careful to draw a line: he believes there are people who follow Islam who can rightly be elected in this country and follow its laws — many have, mostly at the state level. “But, but you have to comply with American law, which has its basis in the American Constitution. If you’re not willing to do that, you are illegitimate.” The only way to change the Constitution is by amendment under Article 5, he noted, and “everything that the DSA stands for cannot be passed through constitutional means.” It’s a stand he is calling on Republicans to take “quite vocally, even right now.”

The Obama Montage: Is Islam Part of America’s Founding?

After footage of a large Muslim march through downtown Chicago — filmed an hour before a scheduled Jesus March in the same spot, with similar scenes reported in New York, Michigan, and Texas — House played a montage of President Barack Obama: “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation,” “Islam has always been a part of America’s story,” “Islam is a part of America.” Pfaff’s answer started with a concession that surprises some listeners — he has never insisted America is a Christian nation per se:

“But the reality is that the Judeo-Christian ethic deeply informed everything that is part of our founding.”

That ethic — Scripture, the Mosaic Law, the judicial system Moses put together, plus lessons from Greece and Rome (mostly of what to avoid) — is what informed the founding documents. It’s why, Pfaff noted, a fresco of Moses faces the Speaker’s chair in the U.S. House, with every other lawgiver’s fresco turned in profile toward him. Islam’s contribution to that inheritance, in his account, was nothing:

“No one in America looked to Islam as a primary example of what needs to be considered when we put our Constitution together at all, because the Islamic system doesn’t lend itself to anything that we have put together in law.”

The American corpus, Pfaff said, was “first canonized in the Declaration of Independence,” then ensconced with the adoption of the Constitution in 1787 — “and Islam is not consistent with that, period.”

The Save America Act: An 80% Issue Stuck in the Senate

House asked where the Save America Act stands and whether it can pass in time for the midterms. Pfaff’s answer: forget the timing question — it needs to be done regardless, because if it becomes law, every state is immediately responsible to implement it. For the first 230 years of American history, he argued, elections were run consistent with the bill’s provisions; it is Democrats who altered the system this century. The bill is stayed in the Senate, but more than a dozen Republican senators have now said they will stay in session throughout August to get it done — the pressure campaign we covered in our analysis of the push on Senate leadership over the Save America Act. Pfaff’s standard for the majority is blunt:

“And Republicans should have the will to do it on what remains an 80% issue with all Americans and even 70% of all Democrats around the country. So if you can’t get that done, then what use are you?”

“Then I guess we do need to throw you out,” he continued. Election integrity, he said, is an existential issue — none of the items flying through Congress is more important — and everyone should keep calling the Senate switchboard to say they want it done now.

Kamala Harris and the Voter ID “Obstacles”

The last clip was Kamala Harris on the SAVE Act, telling viewers that requiring a passport or birth certificate to register is an obstacle designed to make it difficult to vote, that 19 states have passed laws making voting harder, and that the Supreme Court’s Calais decision “took the power out of the Voting Rights Act.” Pfaff flipped the frame: “what’s impractical is having noncitizens vote. What is practical is assuring that citizens can vote.” A passport has never been a requirement — it is one accepted verification among several — and proof of citizenship is already required for a driver’s license in most states. Where it is not required, he argued, the reason is motor voter laws that make it easier to register noncitizens.

Pfaff added a historical footnote: in the 1990s, Chuck Schumer and Democrats now arguing Harris’s line were themselves arguing for a citizenship requirement to vote — “The videos proving that are voluminous.” The push to loosen registration, he said, is the same effort behind schemes like the noncitizen voter registration we documented in New Jersey — a 20-to-25-year project by a party that “can’t win with the American people on a consistent basis.” House closed the segment with the show’s simplest observation:

“We never saw them freaking out about having to prove your citizenship to get an ID, Jim.”

Proof of citizenship for a Real ID, a license, a passport — no videos, no fuss. “It’s only when it comes to voting,” House said. Pfaff ended by reading Psalm 12, verses 3 and 4 — “with our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?” — which, he said, “perfectly describes political speech” and what is at stake in these claims.
