Analysis: Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff

Thirty-five days before the midterms, Conservative Caucus President Jim Pfaff opened the September 29, 2026 Washington Report on Worldview Tube with his rant for the day: libertarians attacking conservatives, including his former boss Thomas Massie, and the GOP divisions he called a real problem going into the election. He named John Thune chief among the corporatists in his own party. The show also covered Marco Rubio on Iran, Britain and Cuba, America.gov, and the holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial.

Topics Covered

Libertarians, Massie and the Most Libertarian Document

Pfaff said he had spent two hours the night before going after libertarians who attack conservatives, and he put his former boss on the list.

“I went off on a big 2-hour rant last night against libertarians that are attacking conservatives and seem intent, including my former boss Thomas Massie, to get Democrats elected just to stick it to the man so that we can destroy our country. It’s just an absolute absurdity while Donald Trump is getting libertarian wins all over the place.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

His evidence for those wins came from a libertarian. His friend Austin Petersen, who ran for the Libertarian Party presidential nomination the year Gary Johnson got it, made a list of what Pfaff recalled as about 25 libertarian wins. Pfaff has addressed his former boss before, in his One America News conversation on Massie and vengeance politics.

He told conservatives who would not call themselves libertarians that he was defending them, not digging at them: the two groups can make common cause easily, given the seriousness of where the country is. His complaint is with the libertarian mantra that if drugs and prostitution are made legal, we will all be free. “It’s really, really stupid,” he said. His test is the Constitution, and specifically Article I, Section 8, which he said dramatically restricts what the federal government can do.

“If you’re not going to be a constitutionalist and fight on constitutional issues and stay out of your libertine philosophical way of thinking in libertarianism in terms of going for policy, unless it aligns with what we have in the Constitution, then don’t call yourself a libertarian, because the Constitution is the most libertarian political document that there ever was.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

The Constitution, he said, is where everyone on the right can meet, get things done and live the life they want to live. People just do not seem to want to do that, and that is why he called these GOP divisions a real problem heading into the election.

“If you’re going to hand this over to Democrats, then you’re not even a conservative, much less a libertarian or anything else you want to call yourself. You are progressive.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

GOP Divisions: Corporatists, Uniparty Activists and John Thune

The host raised 2028, when some high-profile figures say they might run and throw a wrench into things for Republicans. “Throw any wrench you want into a primary,” Pfaff said. “We have primaries to make those determinations.” He wishes Ron Paul could be the nominee, though he is too old to do it. That would throw a total wrench into the Republican Party, he said, since at this stage J.D. Vance and/or Marco Rubio are likely to be the nominees. Would those figures run as independents instead? No, Pfaff said, because they do not want to win. Libertarians sit back and do the I-told-you-sos, he said, while Petersen points to Trump’s libertarian wins. “What are you complaining about?”

He credited Rand Paul, Ron Paul, Thomas Massie and Justin Amash, people he knows and respects and worked with as a staffer, for a few wins in Congress. But very few in the libertarian wing have accomplished anything politically. They do a really great job of education, “it seems to me,” he said, but very little in terms of real action. Then they complain that Republicans are so bad and stay out of the party because of the corporatists. On that point, Pfaff turned on his own side.

“We are filled with corporatists and frankly with uniparty activists inside the Republican Party, and they suck. John Thune is right now chief among them. He’s one of the most absurd, worst of them all.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

The GOP divisions Pfaff described run in two directions: a corporatist, uniparty bloc inside the Republican Party, and a libertarian wing that complains from outside while it has its own infighting. To the second group his message was “put up or shut up.” He called himself libertarian in his economic and political philosophy, said he has been fighting for it, and said he is now getting waylaid for standing up for someone pointing out one of the major weaknesses of libertarians: they are “really more concerned about drugs and prostitution than they are about actual real liberty.” He called it incredibly frustrating.

Rubio on Iran, Britain and Cuba

The host played Rubio’s Fox News interview from the night before, starting with the weekend incident in the UK. As the host understood it, the five suspects had now been released, which the host called quite insane. “It’s much worse than insane,” Pfaff said.

“We are dealing with elements in the world, and in the case of Iran, for example, who have openly threatened to attack American interests globally. We’re going to always take that very seriously. There’ll be repercussions for that if it ever were to happen or even attempted.”
— Marco Rubio, on Fox News

The host had not heard anyone in the administration address the suspects being freed. Pfaff said he would love more clarification, but it sounded like Rubio was trying not to offend the British intelligence officers and police who helped. “That’s not satisfactory to me,” he said. “These people have committed crimes. And they were trying to harm Americans and Brits.” He will be patient with Trump for the moment, he said, but he is not backing off on the British.

“You have a country there that has gone down a freaking rabbit hole. They’ve just so screwed up any chance for their people to live in freedom and based on Western values. And they’re daily succumbing to Islamic values.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

In the second clip, Rubio called Cuba a failed state fueled by corruption, graft and theft, and said close to 20% of its population has left since 2021. He said the United States will never allow Cuba to become a base of operation against American interests.

Pfaff said he is not really happy about any military engagement there, but that what the administration is doing is generally right. TCC covered Cuba and Iran together in his Worldview Tube analysis of Trump’s UN speech on Iran and Cuba. This time he widened the frame: Cuba and, to a certain degree, Iran and Venezuela, among other nations, obviously China and maybe Russia to a certain degree.

“All these nations have attempted to meddle in our domestic affairs. Cuba is a key actor in this.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

Cuba, he said, has worked clandestinely in the Hispanic community to cause harm to the government, probably with the participation of a lot of Democrats, which he said would be treasonous. Venezuela was throwing its criminals onto American streets, and Trump has been dealing with many of them. Trump takes the diplomatic track as best he can, Pfaff said, but inside our own borders this should be pursued aggressively in every way possible.

America.gov and Transparency in Government

Trump, Rubio and other officials launched America.gov that day, an AI system that combines every government website into one chatbot. The host called it a good use of AI. In a clip, Trump said the old 20th century system of big government bureaucracy is failing and outdated, and with the launch of America.gov, “that system is finally passing away.”

29,000 Websites in One Place

The host believed the system brings together something like 29,000 government websites. Features coming in 2027 include updating a legal name across agencies and applying for a passport, tasks that would usually mean a trip to a DMV or something similar.

Pfaff’s support came with a condition. He believes in transparency in government and is less keen on making it efficient to hand his information to the government. The value for him is research without extensive FOIA request operations, and a clear view of what the federal government spends, why and where. Some states keep line-item checkbook listings of their spending; Kansas is one he knows of. That needs to happen at the federal level, he said.

“These are the advancements that that technology can bring to the American people because transparency in government is a hallmark of free government.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

The Lindsay Clancy Case and a Lawyer Working the Mob

After the break, the host turned to the Lindsay Clancy trial. The lone holdout juror had released a video the night before, and that morning a hearing was held on next steps toward a new trial. The host said it seemed the defense attorney was going after Trump and other politicians and pushing theories that Clancy did not do it, even though she has said she did. Pfaff started with the principle.

“It is a necessity in a free society for every person, even if you can determine they’re absolutely guilty, to have legal representation through the legal process, because everyone’s treated innocent until proven guilty. So an aggressive lawyer who tries to help someone is not inappropriate. What is inappropriate is what this lawyer is doing. He’s literally trying to stir up public opinion to get his client off.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

Pfaff said Clancy admits to strangling her children after sending her husband out so she could do it behind his back. She will stand before God with that guilt, he said, and he hopes she will have sought the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ for her salvation before she is, in his words, “properly executed, as she should be, as a punishment for her crime.” Her lawyer, he said, expects the mob to work because the justice system has been working that way.

When the host brought up O.J. Simpson, Pfaff said things are much worse now than in the early ’90s, when everyone knew the glove fit. What changed, particularly since the Obama administration, is an organized effort to use public opinion to steer court cases, criminal and civil: judges intimidated in cases involving Trump, and attempts on the lives of Supreme Court justices. “This is all organized and strategized and coordinated,” he said. The lawyer, in his view, is working that system to get a mob behind him and intimidate the next judge.

The host said the attorney once called the online theories crazy and was now asking in court where the evidence is. Pfaff said the evidence is in the admission and in the trial evidence that confirmed it, and that she was properly Mirandized. The American people, or at least a substantial portion of them, see what is going on, he said. “There might be about 10 or 15% that are cheering her on because they’re part of the Democrat death cult, which is all about killing people,” he said, naming killing at the end of life, babies in the womb, and young children when they are inconvenient. “Whatever the outcome of the trial in this, the American people know what happened.”

The Lone Juror Speaks

Pfaff said the holdout juror could see what happened from the evidence himself, and the lawyer is now trying to cause him harm for using his best judgment, which is what jurors are allowed to do. He contrasted that with jurors in places like New York City, including in Trump’s case, who he said were trying to get a different outcome. “Does anyone go after those jurors for making a bad decision? And they’re going to go after this guy?”

“This is the kind of injustice that God judges nations for.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

In his video, the juror identified himself as Michael Desronvil, also known as the Lone Juror. He thanked God for his Catholic faith and asked that the focus go to the three children: Cora, Dawson and Callan.

“I know the whole focus has been on me, but we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels that is at hand. The ones that can’t speak for themselves, the ones that can’t defend themselves.”
— Michael Desronvil, holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial

Pfaff called the effort to intimidate this juror obscene and “an outrage,” and said it was gross to see other jurors go after him publicly. Jurors are allowed to use their best judgment, he said, not to publicly excoriate a juror who disagrees with them.

“The sanctity of this process is that those deliberations should stay quiet, and then you go on. And if it’s a mistrial, then you have another trial. They’re turning this into a circus because this lawyer is trying to get her off in a means outside of the criminal justice system.”
— Jim Pfaff, President, The Conservative Caucus

A proper justice system, he said, works the case through the system, because a deliberative process between people actually fighting each other is the best way to get to the right evidence.

Key Takeaways

  1. GOP divisions help Democrats – Pfaff said libertarians attacking conservatives, including Thomas Massie, are a real problem going into the election while Trump racks up what Austin Petersen counted as about 25 libertarian wins.
  2. The Constitution is the meeting ground – Pfaff called it the most libertarian political document there ever was and said libertarians who will not fight as constitutionalists should not use the label.
  3. Thune is chief among the corporatists – Pfaff said the Republican Party is filled with corporatists and uniparty activists and named John Thune the worst of them.
  4. The UK release is not satisfactory – Rubio warned of repercussions for any Iranian attack on American interests; Pfaff said the five released suspects committed crimes and tried to harm Americans and Brits.
  5. Foreign meddling at home – Pfaff backed the administration’s Cuba approach and said Cuba, Iran and Venezuela have attempted to meddle in American domestic affairs.
  6. Defend the lone juror – Pfaff said Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer is using the mob to intimidate the next judge and the holdout juror, the kind of injustice that God judges nations for.
